Bio

My personal and professional journey has taken me to some incredibly interesting places. I was born in Japan and have had the opportunity to call Asia, Europe, Mexico, both American coasts, the Midwest, and the South, home.

Professionally, my experience has been no less diverse. I embarked upon my first entrepreneurial venture at the age of 13 when I started subcontracting my chores to friends with my allowance.

I founded a music promotion company and led the growth of our family-owned retail business, both of which were sold. I had the opportunity to work for Napster, lead national sales efforts for the United States Chamber of Commerce, and lead massive transition at LAW Publications on behalf of investors. I've also helped several entrepreneurs develop, implement, and transition business models in a variety of industries. One of these entrepreneurs later became my wife. I guess I did a good job.

Along the way I’ve had the opportunity to start, grow, fix, transition, and wind down businesses of all types. These experiences have included 10+ years of P&L responsibility, national sales team management, contact and call center management, sales division turnarounds, culture and environment turnarounds, intrapreneurship, and business model innovation.

Like any calculated risk taker, I’ve also had my fair share of bets that didn’t pan out. These are as much a part of my experience as the wins are.

With more than 15 years of experience in building teams of all types, I've developed a network of high performing and positive people to call on to solve a wide variety of challenges.

I’m a permanent student in many regards and devour about a book a week. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to earn my degree in management from Purdue University Global and my MBA from Southern Methodist University. I graduated with honors from both and am a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, an academic honor society.
