Followers as an indication of your leadership

A necessary part of leading teams is followers.

If you don't have followers, you aren't leading anyone.

One question managers can ask to determine who's following is:

"If I ask for help, will anyone care?"

In other words, if you need them to step up...

Are you able to ask for help and get a response?

Or will you hear crickets?

Or hollow compliance without action?

Or outright refusal?

If you ask your team for help to pull through a tough time...

Their response tells you more about your leadership than the people underneath it.
