Enjoy the journey, not just the destination

“I’ll slow down when…

I get that promotion, degree, bank account balance…”

Delayed gratification obviously has its place.

But taken to the extreme, it’s unhealthy.

We oftentimes don’t realize that putting off happiness…

Until some external circumstance is met is a bad habit.

We think that [thing] is going to allow us to enjoy life.

Only to find out we’ve created a habit of not enjoying life...

Now.

I’m not suggesting that delayed gratification is bad…

Just reminding us all to enjoy the journey, not just the destination.
